I was
hunting all of Septembers and Octobers bow hunting season in this one spot behind a
friends house. I have seen a lot of big scraps in a small swamp.
It was in the evening on
Novembers gun season. I was out scanning the fields for does I was close to my
friends place and there was about a half hour left to hunt that day. So
I went there and started to walk down the trail to the bottom of the hill and
I heard the dog barking on the ridge. I crossed a fresh trail of some does going out to the
fields just before I got there so I stepped out on the bottom trail and as soon as
I did I heard some thing coming down the opposite side of the
barking on the ridge.
I just walked down, turned toward the noise and
I saw something coming toward me then it slowed down and I see it was a dark deer with a small rack.
So,
I thought I shot once and I hit it it went right down. As it went down
his head reared back and all
I seen were antlers. I've been still hunting the same area and there is another big scrape in the area hehehe.
Hopefully get a bigger one this year.
